The work

Six signals
engines read.

AI engines do not rank pages. They build a model of your category, then generate an answer from it. To be in that answer, your business has to be part of that model. These are the levers that put it there.

Entity presence

Engines resolve businesses as entities, not strings. A firm with a confirmable record is cited with confidence; an ambiguous one is skipped in favour of a competitor the engine can verify.

Structured data

Schema is how you state facts in a form a machine cannot misread. Without it, an engine has to infer what you are, and inference loses to a competitor who simply declared it.

Earned mentions

Models weight what others say about you above what you say about yourself. Across 75,000 brands, Ahrefs found brand mentions correlate with AI visibility about three times more strongly than backlinks.

Crawler access

The most common failure we find is the simplest: the site serves an empty shell to bots, or blocks them outright at the edge. Nothing else matters until this is fixed.

Extractable structure

Engines lift passages, not pages. Content written as self-contained answers gets quoted; content that needs three paragraphs of run-up does not.

Freshness

Recency works as a proxy for accuracy. Roughly half of the content AI engines cite was published or updated within the last 13 weeks, which quietly retires anything you wrote and abandoned.

In June 2026 we audited ten Cyprus corporate-services firms for the signals above. Seven had no proper structured data on their sites. Not one had a Wikidata or Wikipedia entity. Not one had FAQ markup. These were credible firms doing real work, invisible to AI answers not because they lack quality, but because an engine cannot read them.

On that Ahrefs finding. Brand mentions correlate with AI visibility about three times more strongly than backlinks. Correlation is not causation, and we will not pretend otherwise. What it justifies is treating earned mentions as at least as important as link building, not as proof that mentions alone cause citations.
